Easter!

We made the trek to Moses Lake to see Sam and Jenny. Sam and Jenny have created a lovely little home in their new town, and it felt great to get away--I think I thought about work less than I ever have on any weekend since September. Other magical aspects to the weekend included Mom's uproariously funny trash-talk during TTR (that's what insiders call Ticket to Ride), actual t-shirt weather, and lots of delicious food, both healthy and otherwise.

Bunny Will. I said, "Smile, Will," but that only caused him to open wider and bear his bunny teeth.

Ellie and Uncle Chris enjoyed a lovely tea party.

Is it just me, or do we all look slightly weird? Except Jenny. Way to be photogenic, Jenny!

Spicy Pork Stir Fry

We love finding new recipes we like, then perfecting them. Chris and I agreed that while delicious, this dish does not live up to the "spicy" in its name. We plan to add  more bite next time--and there WILL be a next time for this one. It is in a healthy cookbook we have, which is a bonus! Just ask if you want it; my copyright conscience prevents me from posting it.

I tried Chris's favorite new breakfast today: 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup oatmeal, 2 scoops chocolate protein shake, a bit of peanut butter, and a handful of mixed berries, all blended in our rocket blender which Ben and Rachel re-gifted to us. (Thanks, guys! Take it back any time--you gave up a gem!) I found it surprisingly delicious and filling. Plus, my muscles feel bigger already!

OUR HOUSE!

Our House!

Living Room

Kitchen

We had a CRAZY Spring Break. We recorded a bunch of movies on our DVR in hopes of having a very restful break. WRONG! We went house hunting on Monday. It didn't go too well. We just didn't find one we liked. We were planning to do a bit of work on the house but we couldn't find one with a good floor plan. We went back to our realtor's office to set up some more appointments to look at more houses. While there, we saw a brand new listing of this house. We set up an appointment to see it on Tuesday. Elisa and I drove by it and peeked in the windows. We decided that if it was as nice on the inside as it looked on the outside we would put an offer in. Once inside we loved it. It needs a bit of work but it is great. We put in an offer and found out it was an REO property (bank owned). That means we had to do a private bidding war. After 3 days of a nail-biting wait, we got the house. We close on June 2, 2011 or 60 days and counting!!
